Bioengineering Presents New Product Generation in China
In June 2026, Bioengineering hosted an international product launch event in Shanghai, unveiling a new portfolio for modern biomanufacturing. The event, held under the theme “Swiss Craftsmanship, Shaping Biomanufacturing,” was specifically designed to address the Chinese biopharmaceutical market.
The event was organized in close collaboration with the Morimatsu Group, of which Bioengineering has been a part since 2025, underlining the strategic importance of Asia for the company’s continued global development.
The event was officially opened by Mr. Tang Weihua, Senior Vice President of Morimatsu International and CEO of Morimatsu LifeSciences, who highlighted the significance of integrating Bioengineering into the Morimatsu Group.
In his keynote address, he emphasized that the integration marks an important milestone and that the combination of Morimatsu’s global engineering capabilities with Bioengineering’s more than 50 years of experience in bioreactors and fermentation systems will bring more comprehensive and innovative solutions to customers worldwide. Mr. Tang Weihua also pointed out that the newly launched products not only carry forward Swiss engineering precision but have also been specifically optimized to meet the practical needs of the Chinese market. Furthermore, he underlined the role of these advanced technologies in shortening R&D timelines and accelerating the commercialization of biopharmaceutical innovations.
Bioengineering was also represented on site by Product Managers from its headquarters in Wald, Switzerland. They supported the launch event in Shanghai and contributed to the technical presentations.
During the event, the new product portfolio was presented in detail, highlighting the technical strengths and application capabilities of the systems across the entire bioprocess value chain. In addition, the enhanced BIOSCADA II intelligent process control platform was introduced, showcasing its role in the digitalization and integration of bioprocess workflows.
Direct exchange with local customers and partners provided valuable insights into market requirements and further strengthened Bioengineering’s position as a globally connected technology partner.
At the core of the event was the presentation of five new products:
- Taberis Xpert Bench-Top Bioreactor
- Taberis Prime Bench-Top Bioreactor
- Taberis Parasmart Parallel Bioreactor
- Ondalis Single-Use Wave Bioreactor
- Bagento Single-Use Bioreactor
The new portfolio forms a fully integrated platform covering all stages of the biomanufacturing process – from laboratory R&D and pilot scale-up to large-scale commercial production.
With this new product generation, Bioengineering addresses key industry shifts:
- from standalone equipment to integrated platform workflows
- from experience-based trial-and-error to data-driven bioprocessing
- from isolated process steps to fully connected end-to-end manufacturing pipelines
The BIOSCADA II platform supports this transformation by providing a centralized solution for process control, data analytics, and full traceability.
China is one of the most dynamic markets for biopharmaceutical innovation worldwide. The solutions presented in Shanghai have therefore been specifically adapted to local market needs—while fully maintaining the proven standards of Swiss engineering excellence.
With the successful event in Shanghai, Bioengineering reinforces its international footprint and highlights the importance of close collaboration within the Morimatsu Group.
Combining long-standing engineering expertise, global presence, and continuous innovation, Bioengineering is well positioned as a reliable partner for advanced bioprocess solutions and future developments in biomanufacturing.
